When Fish Can Drive

This is so cool! The fish pictured in the video below is actually driving the car, which is operated via a webcam that tracks the position of the fish within the tank. Living proof that positive things can come from people who have too much time on their hands.

Nursery Completion

It took me several months post-babies to complete, but better late than never! Here are a few snapshots of the nursery. We went with a Noah's ark theme, which basically means I put animals everywhere.

I also picked a flexible color scheme with lots of green, blue, orange, yellow and brown. I love the variety. The boys seem to enjoy it as well. They can stare at the stuff on the walls for hours. It's amazing watching babies explore the world in front of them. It makes all the effort put into decorating this room worth it.

The giraffe was a baby shower present and I think it adds a playful
touch to the room.

The letters hung above the cribs were part of a custom order on Etsy.

I love the shelves above the gliding chair. They're great for showing off
a book collection.

It's not very tidy, but here is the changing station. The boys love the
 mirror, which is great for keeping them distracted during
diaper changes.

Nature's Orchestra

This is one of the most amazing things I've seen in a long time. Playwright Robert Wilson recorded the harmonious sound of crickets one night. With a little recording magic, he was then able to stretch out the sound they make "by as much as one would have to stretch the life of a cricket to equal that of a human." The result is something that sounds very much like an intentional orchestra. Bravo, mother nature!

Kitten Cam Weekend Kick-Off

Well folks, it's the end of the week and the start of the weekend. What could be better than that? I feel good about the projects I've been able to complete during this first week of unemployment and now I'm ready to relax and have a few laughs.  This Kitten Cam footage will do the trick!

Adorable Pet Accessories

Mashable typically has a great beat on all things relevant and their latest post is no exception. I've definitely seen some of these items on Etsy and Amazon, but some of them look homemade. It makes me wonder if our pet would ever wear something like this. My guess is no, since she's a bit of a rogue kitty and likes to do her own thing...

Feed the Squirrels

We have a walnut tree in our backyard which means that come fall, our lawn is bound to be a walnut paradise. Every squirrel's dream! I don't mind. In fact, I like the idea of having a little fun with it. Something like this hilarious Big Head Squirrel Feeder would no doubt be entertaining.

Felines in Film

Do you love cats? How about cats in films? If you can answer yes to both questions, you're in luck my friend! The first ever International Cat Film Festival will be taking place on August 20th in Minneapolis this year. Though the entire festival is only expected to last an hour, I think it's a great idea and wish I could be there. Curious to see what comes out of it!

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days, readers. Wednesday was hubby's birthday and the day job is all kinds of hectic right now. The good news is the weekend is almost here - hooray!

We'll be doing some indoor skydiving, hitting some golf balls at the driving range, and visiting our favorite Irish restaurant. What will you be up to? Whatever it is, here's hoping it's fantastic!
